History Formation. The group had its roots in two of Cleveland's most successful local bands in the late 1960s, The Choir and Cyrus Erie. 5 de ene. de 2016 · Jim Bonfanti is best known as the original drummer and co-founding member or Raspberries, a powerful rock group that found significant success in the early '70s. The group, led by Eric Carmen, released four albums and eight singles, including a Gold Record Hit, "Go All the Way." Jim started the group with Eric in 1970.
Cyrus Erie guitarist, Wally Bryson, had been playing with friends Jim Bonfanti and Dave Smalley in one of Cleveland's must popular bands, the Choir, who scored a minor national hit in 1967 with the single "It's Cold Outside." When Cyrus Erie and the Choir collapsed at the end of the '60s, Eric, Wally, Jim and Dave teamed up to form Raspberries.
