Juan Corona was born in Autlán, Jalisco state, Mexico in 1934 (kidder, 1974). At age 16 he came into California illegally; he had to do farm work in the Imperial Valley for three months before he was able to move to Sacramento Valley (kidder, 1974). Corona’s half brother Natividad had immigrated to California six years before him.
