At the request of Yoko Ono, these photographs were compiled in the book Kishin Shinoyama. John Lennon & Yoko Ono. Double Fantasy (2015), published by Taschen.

His work reveals much about the era, depicting snapshots of the student protest movement, fashion shows, dancers, avant-garde theatre troops and of course the nude shots that would subsequently form a major motif in his oeuvre.

His wife is retired singer Saori Minami, and his second son is actor Akinobu Shinoyama. According to Akinobu’s management office, Kishin Shinoyama suddenly fell ill around midday on Thursday and was raced to hospital, where he later died.
