Eritrea, oficialmente el Estado de Eritrea (en tigriña: ሃገረ ኤርትራ, romanizado: Hagere Ertra; en árabe: دولة إرتريا , romanizado: Dawlat Irītriyā), es un país situado al noreste de África.

Eritrea egy állam Kelet-Afrika szarván. Északon a Vörös-tenger és Szudán, keleten a Vörös-tenger, délen Dzsibuti és Etiópia, nyugaton pedig Szudán határolja. Az Etiópiával vívott háború után de facto 1991-ben nyerte el a függetlenségét, majd de jure 1993-ban, a függetlenségi népszavazás után.
