Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen. "Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner." Discuss.
14 de may. de 2024 · Whilst attending the opening of the Manchester to Liverpool Railway, William Huskisson, M.P for Liverpool, ignored warnings to stay in his carriage whilst the engine stopped of for water. When going to shake hands with the Duke of Wellington - who was also a passenger in another carriage - he suddenly became aware that a train - hauled by the Rocket - on the adjacent track was approaching.
Hace 5 días · William Huskisson was born in 1770. From 1783 to 1792 he lived in Paris, where he was for some time private secretary to Lord Gower, the British Ambassador. In 1795 he became under-secretary at war, and in the following year entered parliament. He was appointed secretary to the treasury for the first time in 1804, and again in 1807.
