Tommy Dorsey, born November 19, 1905, died November 26, 1956. He was an American jazz trumpeter, trombonist and bandleader during the Big Band era. He was Jimmy Dorsey’s younger brother. His lyrical trombone sound became a signature sound of his band and the Swing Era. Thomas Francis Dorsey, Jr., was born in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania.
