Dariush Mehrjui, también escrito como Mehrjoui y Mehrjuyi, (en idioma persa: داریوش مهرجویی, Teherán, 8 de diciembre de 1939-Karaj, 14 de octubre de 2023) [1] [2] fue un director, guionista, productor, montador de cine iraní y miembro de la Academia iraní de las artes.
Dariush Mehrjui (Persian: داریوش مهرجویی ; 8 December 1939 – 14 October 2023) was an Iranian filmmaker and a member of the Iranian Academy of the Arts. Mehrjui was a founding member of the Iranian New Wave movement of the early 1970s, which also included directors Masoud Kimiai and Nasser Taqvai.
Dariush Mehrjui made his debut in 1966 with Diamond 33, a big budget parody of the James Bond film series. The film was not financially successful. But his second feature film, Gaav, brought him national and international recognition.
