Newton werd geboren in Lakehurst in New Jersey en groeide op in Virginia. Ze begon begin jaren zeventig samen met Otha Young en Tom Kealey een band die uiteindelijk de naam Juice Newton and Silver Spur kreeg. 17 de abr. de 2007 · Juice Newton started as the lead of the Silver Spur Band but it wouldn't be until a few year laters that she really became well known. My guess is that has to do more with timing than anything as here on her debut album she is already in control of that big voice and doing the poppy country that would make her famous.
