1 de ene. de 2004 · Released just before fellow Disturbing tha Peace member I-20's Self Explanatory, Worth tha Weight is Shawnna's own chance to step out as a solo artist. When she says "weight," meaning "wait," she's not kidding -- even by rap standards. The album comes four years after her breakthrough guest spot on Ludacris' "What's Your Fantasy."
Shawnna then hooked up with Ludacris, who granted her a spot on his break-out single "What's Your Fantasy." Two years after an album with Luda's Disturbing Tha Peace crew, she finally released Worth Tha Weight, her solo debut for Def Jam. West, Timbaland, Just Blaze, Shondrae, Icedrake, and Jermaine Dupri chipped in with production support. ~ Andy Kellman
