The paper trail of Vassar College, stretching from the past to the present, has always included materials which taken together illuminate the warp and woof of our 145-year old academic life. Considered as a whole, lack of appropriate storage space had resulted in accumulated deterioration and some loss of these materials.
Vassar College ( / ˈvæsər / VASS-ər) is a private liberal arts college in Poughkeepsie, New York. It was founded in 1861 by Matthew Vassar. It was the second degree -granting institution of higher education for women in the United States. It became coeducational in 1969. It was a member of the Seven Sisters, seven historical woman's colleges.
