9 de jun. de 2024 · Donald Kent Slayton was an American astronaut who was one of the original seven Project Mercury astronauts in 1959 but did not make a space flight until 1975. Slayton joined the U.S. air force in 1942 and flew 56 combat missions during World War II.
Hace 4 días · Donald K. "Deke" Slayton flew B-25s with the 340th Bombardment Group in Europe during World War II. After 56 combat missions he returned to the United States in 1944 as an instructor. In April 1945, he was sent to Okinawa with the 319th Bomb Group and flew seven combat missions over Japan.

18 de jun. de 2024 · It was the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project, the first international human spaceflight. On July 15, 1975, an Apollo spacecraft launched carrying a crew of three and docked two days later on July 17, with a Soyuz spacecraft and its crew of two.

But Eisele dislocated his shoulder twice aboard the KC-135 weightlessness training aircraft , and had to undergo surgery on January 27.
