23 de may. de 2024 · Colonel Herbert Stern ’41 (Retired), the Oldest Living Grad, said his class goat didn’t get money. USMA’s first confirmed goat fund was in 1968; however, it then skipped a few years. The origin of giving the goat something of value is a mystery.
22 de may. de 2024 · The next ceremony was the annual Alumni Wreath Laying Ceremony where the two oldest living graduates in attendance, Roger Conover, USMA Class of 1948, and Bob Springer, USMA Class of 1949, placed a wreath at the statue of the Father of the U.S. Military Academy, Sylvanus Thayer.

Nearly every general officer of note from either army during the Civil War was a graduate of West Point, and a West Point graduate commanded the forces of one or both sides in every one of the 60 major battles of the war.
