Waterloo Sunset: The Very Best Of Ray Davies And The Kinks is reasonably balanced and has a few Ray and Dave solo tracks, but still far from all encompassing. Kink Kronikles is a good early compile, but misses too much to be of much use to me.
24 de jun. de 2024 · I have all the albums it’s drawn from, but I seem to recall it may contain some single edits or remixes, so I should probably track down a copy for completeness. The original lp of Celluloid Heroes contains several remixes (details somewhere on this forum), but the cd contains the standard album tracks.
30 de jun. de 2024 · Released in 1976, just as the Kinks ended their notoriously uneven tenure at RCA, The Kinks’ Greatest: Celluloid Heroes is a summary of their time at the label. Since they didn’t have many genuine hits while at RCA, this winds up being a haphazard sampling of concept albums.
24 de jun. de 2024 · Kinks Kronikles is a great selection of songs, but the audio quality, on the Reprise CD, at least, isn't good. You can recreate it as a playlist using a streaming service (or your own collection, if you have all of the tracks).
