Walbrook serves as a middle man between us (the audience) and the characters by often breaking the fourth wall to explain things or give us useful insights to better understand each and every situation presented to us.

Terrific actor. Superbly elegant. Starred in some of the greatest movies ever made. Should be much more well-known.
