  2. Personally. Al Pacino is my win for 1974. But I don't hate Art Carney's win and understand the nomination. Harry And Tonto is a cute, decent film and Carney carries the entire film on its back by giving a subtle, convincing, and touching performance. For a guy in his mid-50s at the time, he looked and acted the part of 70 year old convincingly.
