It’s their first as a four piece, with Andrew Fidler (guitar/vocals) and drummer James May now augmented by guitarist Chris “Scary” Adams and bassist Derek Lynch.
8 de may. de 2024 · Black Tusk are best compared to an early Mastodon with prevalent punk influences or a punk Baroness without dynamics or texture. If that sounds like your thing- and you’ve never heard the band- you’ll love this. The sound is raw, loud, fast and in your face.

These swamp monsters have never strayed far from their roots in metal, sludge and punk, though their previous album found them fighting just to stay afloat after bassist Jonathan Athon’s passing. “The Way Forward” is just that.
14 de may. de 2024 · Black Tusk makes no argument for elevating itself past “ Mastodon but less ambition and more riffs” but if you’re looking for thick-ass riffs flying around your head with punky simplicity and sludgy meatheadedness, look no further. The Way Forward is Black Tusk through and through, even if its main weapon of the riff can sputter periodically.
