The original building, designed by Walter Gropius and Maxwell Fry, has been widely admired as a pioneering example of the modern movement.

After 1939 Impington village college was the base for most sports and recreational clubs. By 1864 the Baptists and Methodists shared a cemetery in the parish, (fn. 72) probably that at the corner of Mill Lane and Pig's Lane on land owned by Chivers until 1929.
