Hingis won a silver medal at the 2016 Olympics in Rio in doubles with countrywoman Timea Bacsinszky. When she reached the 2016 French Open mixed doubles final, Hingis became one of the few players to have reached the finals in all four majors in all three events (singles, doubles, and mixed).
