18 de may. de 2024 · Ure recorded further solo albums, “Answers to nothing” (1988) and “Pure” (1991), “Breathe” (1998) and “Move me” (2001), none of them achieving the level of success he had before. While Band Aid and Live Aid are by far the biggest projects Ure was involved in, he did a lot more work for charity.
21 de may. de 2024 · Midge Ure's career has been stunningly successful and yet, his profile outside of the UK has been relatively under the radar. In 1979/80, he was the singer/songwriter of Ultravox, songwriter/keyboard player in Visage, and guitarist for Thin Lizzy (!).
For me, I knew who Midge Ure was but I didn't know any of his music. My first clear memory of the song is hearing the Nirvana version. David Bowie! Was obsessed with him as a teenager. Am still obsessed with him as an old man 😅. Ah! I was gonna say MGSV - I think it Nirvana was probably the first for me as well.

He’ll perform his greatest hits, from his glam-rock days with Silk, through Ultravox, Band Aid and beyond, in an intimate retrospective at Aberdeen’s Music Hall later this year.
