While the restoration process utilizes similar AI-tricks as Aliens, the overall result is by and far much better this time around.It probably helps that the only previous release of The Abyss is the lacklustre DVD from 20 years ago.. Here, the colours are punchy, the highlights sublime, and everything looks like it was filmed yesterday.
