  6. 10 de may. de 2024 · The Lancaster Bomber. Forward. In 1940, Britain was under threat of invasion from Germany which bombed airfields in the South of England in preparation for a landing along the coast. These attacks were not a total success being thwarted by RAF Hurricanes and Spitfires.

RAF 106 Squadron with seventeen planes from Metheringham joined a larger force, 102 Lancasters and four Mosquitos in total flew on V1 Launch sites near Pommerval in France.
