If so, expect much lampshading about the new lineup of the team matching the old and Keith having the same hairstyle in both universes.
In DoTU it is implied that Alfor was involved in Voltron's construction (assumed as one large robot, not individual lions merged). So one can extrapolite the likely scenario that Voltron had pilots prior to Keith's team but they were defeated when Voltron was split.
