Hace 5 días · The rail link between London and Edinburgh also crosses the Tyne at Newcastle (the High Level Bridge, 1844–49). The electrically operated Swing Bridge (1865–76), one of the greatest engineering achievements of its time, is on the site of Roman and medieval bridges.
