12 de may. de 2024 · Harriet Beecher Stowe, born in 1811 in Litchfield, Connecticut, moved to Brunswick, Maine in 1850 with her husband, Calvin Ellis Stowe, a professor at Bowdoin College. It was there that she wrote her groundbreaking novel "Uncle Tom's Cabin" in 1852, which exposed the harsh realities of slavery and fueled the abolitionist movement.
