It’s defined his career, but it’s never defined his style or interests. He’s never seemed to feel obligated to make the same movie again with each entry, and that’s no different here. Furiosa is not Fury Road and that’s okay, even preferable. The road to Furiosa has been an odd one.

20 de may. de 2024 · Coming out of this on Thursday night I came away thinking this was really really excellent, but maybe just a notch below Fury Road. But I think this is another all time incredible film in so many ways. It has that certain something to it. It rips just like Fury Road did, but in a different-yet-similar way.

20 de may. de 2024 · It also doesn't feel very innovative (after Fury Road) and the CGI is disappointing at times. What it does is effectively make Fury Road a relentless 2 hour final act of Furiosa. Furiosa is now the lead movie, it sets up the world and Fury Road is the conclusion. I need to re-watch Fury Road asap to see how well it blends with Furiosa.
20 de may. de 2024 · Fury Road is still the better film for me, but I'm also glad for the ways this movie deviated and built out the world. Hemsworth's best performance by far, and a definite highlight. I'd say the soundtrack wasn't up to par with Fury Road's, and there were a couple dodgy moments of CGI, but otherwise this had a great, epic feel to it.
