He also wrote and recorded the original score for an animated television movie musical, The Point, which included the hit “Me and My Arrow” (1971).

I got in to Newman's work lately through Harry Nilsson (the Nilsson Sings Newman album is great) and I'm so glad I did. When I was about four or five, I watched Toy Story nearly every day and always loved the soundtrack, but at that age the name Randy Newman meant nothing to me.

22 de may. de 2024 · This is from one of my favourite albums: Nilsson sings Newman. And that's what it is, Nilsson singing a bunch of songs by the, at that time, barely known Randy Newman. The latter plays piano throughout. Nilsson sings, produces, arranges and multi-tracks like only he could. It's a wonderful LP.
