The left hand lane, belonging to the Tajuña Greenway, continues to make its way through the Tajuña river lowlands as far as Ambite, while the right hand lane, part of the 40 Day Train Greenway, starts to climb.

The gorge also served as the most formidable defence Ronda’s enemies have ever tried to attack. Known as “El Tajo”, the gorge was created by constant erosion of the river Guadalevín.

The trail includes the famous W Circuit (67 km), and wraps around the backside of the spectacular mountain range, eventually connecting to make a loop.
