3 de may. de 2024 · 1. 서양의 제책방식 [편집] 책 의 제본법 중 하나로 좁은 의미에서의 소프트커버 (Softcover)를 말한다. 페이퍼백의 반댓말은 당연히 하드커버 (Hardcover) 이다. 본래 페이퍼백의 의미는 책 표지가 종이 로 된 판본을 의미하지만, 대부분의 일반인들은 표지가 종이이고 접착제로 제본된 책을 페이퍼백이라고 부른다. 페이퍼백을 제작하는 목적이 보급을 위한 것이다보니 실제로 상당수의 페이퍼백들은 접착제로 제본되어 있다. 당연히 양장본 이니 하드커버 니 하는 것들보다 내구성은 떨어지고 없어보이지만, 값싸고 생산성이 높아서 가장 많이 생산되는 책의 종류다. 읽을 수만 있을 정도의 최저 비용으로 찍는 양산형 책이다.

You can’t skim and skip through the book as easily as you can with a paperback.
