The band later recruited a fifth member—famed guitarist Joe Satriani—when their original choice, Slash, turned them down.

Planet Us. A supergroup that formed in 2002 consisting of Sammy Hagar on lead vocals, Neal Schon on guitar, Michael Anthony (3) on bass, and Deen Castronovo on drums. The band later recruited guitarist Joe Satriani. They made a few live appearances and recorded two demos before disbanding in 2003.
