10 de feb. de 2022 · Prince Chakravuth, the eldest son of the late Prince Norodom Ranariddh, was unanimously elected as the leader of the royalist Funcinpec Party on February 9, 2022. He pledged to restore the party's reputation and popularity, and to pursue a merger with the Khmer National United Party for the upcoming commune and national elections.
He replaced his late father, Norodom Ranariddh, who died in 2021. Ranariddh was nominated co-Prime Minister (along with Hun Sen) following the 1993 election. Raden said Chakravuth has captured the hearts of the people and restored the royalist party.
Prince Chakravuth, the eldest son of the late Prince Ranariddh, was elected the president of FUNCINPEC at the party’s Feb. 9 congress. He is a PhD holder and a younger politician who hopes to attract new voters and retain old ones.
