Welcome to SJND! We’re glad you’re here. Since 1881 we have been welcoming students, educators, and guests to our tree lined campus in Alameda, California. A campus is more than just a collection of buildings, it is our students and our team that bring our school to life.
SJND enrolls approximately 470 students in grades 9 through 12. SJND students come from over 27 public, independent, and Catholic schools. Approximately 50 percent of the students live in Alameda, 25 percent live in Oakland, and 25 percent live in neighboring East Bay communities.

Our welcoming campus is located in a safe, residential neighborhood of Alameda, a quaint, tree-lined town near San Francisco Bay.
SJND is located in the beautiful, tree-lined residential area of Alameda, on the same site where the school was established in 1881.
BASILICA HOURS. Monday-Friday: 8:00 am-7:00 pm / Saturday: 8:00 am-6:00 pm / Sunday: 7:00 am-7:00 pm. MASS TIMES. Morning Mass: Monday - Saturday: 8:00 am. Saturday: 5 pm Vigil. Sunday: 7:30 am, 9:30 am, 12:00 pm & 7:00 pm. INDIVIDUAL RECONCILIATION. Saturday: Following the Morning Mass until 9 am, & 3:30 - 4:30 pm.
