SNDT Women’s University is the first Women’s university in India as well as in South-East Asia. The University was founded by Maharshi Dr. Dhondo Keshav Karve in 1916 for a noble cause of Women’s Education.
The SNDT Women's University is established in 1916 by Bharatratna Maharshi Dr. Dhondo Keshav Karve and generously supported by Sir Vitthaldas Thackersey. It is the first of its kind in India, imparting education exclusively to women, to suit their aspirations in the fast changing world.
