Danilo Pérez (born December 29, 1965) is a Panamanian pianist, composer, educator, and a social activist. His music is a blend of Panamanian roots with elements of Latin American folk music, jazz, European impressionism, African, and other musical heritages that promote music as a multi-dimensional bridge between people.
Danilo Pérez (29 de diciembre de 1965 - ) es un pianista, compositor y jazzista panameño. Biografía. Comenzó en la música a la edad de 3 años, cuando fue entrenado por su padre, quien era un cantante y líder de orquesta. A la edad de 10 años estudió el repertorio de piano clásico europeo en el Conservatorio Nacional de Panamá.
También ha sido profesor de música en el Berklee College of Music y en el New England Conservatory of Music y hace giras con su trío que incluye el bajista Ben Street y el baterista Adam Cruz. Actualmente es Artista por la Paz de la UNESCO, Embajador Cultural de Panamá, Fundador y Director Artístico de Berklee Global Jazz Institute.
On all three albums he’s accompanied by longtime sidemen bassist Ben Street and drummer/percussionist Adam Cruz, and with the two Verve releases, by a bevy of top names in jazz, including vocalists Claudia Acuña, Lizz Wright, and Richard Bona, violinist Regina Carter, and bassist John Patitucci.

For nearly two decades, Pérez performed alongside bassist John Patitucci. Patitucci first came to worldwide acclaim in the mid-1980s, when his work with Chick Corea helped put him at the forefront of the jazz world.
