The Outsiders were a continuation of the Starfires: Tom King, Sonny Geraci, Mert Madsen, Richard Kriss, Al Austin and Howard Blank (who was replaced by Ronnie Harkai before the recording of "Time Won't Let Me").
Ronnie Harkai, drums (joined in 1964-during which time The Starfires transitioned into the band, The Outsiders) Jazz sax player, Tony "The Big T" Lovano also played with the Starfires on numerous gigs throughout Cleveland.
14 de jul. de 2018 · Ronnie Harkai returned to record cuts on the second album Album No. 2, along with Ricky Baker. A short-lived but memorable cover of the Isley Brothers' "Respectable" from Album No. 2 reached No. 15 in early September 1966.
22 de sept. de 2020 · RB: “Time Won’t Let Me” and “Respectable” were the complete original tracks with the horns, organ, and other overdubs removed. Ron Harkai is the drummer on those, and Al Austin’s guitar parts were kept on “Time Won’t Let Me.”.
Drummer Howie Blank was there during high school, but Ronnie Harkai soon replaced him and remained through a half dozen years of the band's ups and downs. They made records right off the bat thanks to Tom's uncle, Patrick Connelly, who co-owned a Cleveland label, Pama Records, with Arnie Rosenberg.
