The National Theatre of Greece Drama School (GNT Drama School) was founded in 1930, since when it has operated in tandem with the National Theatre of Greece. In its history a number of its graduates have gone on to become major actors and stars of the National Theatre.
The establishment of the Drama School of the National Theatre in 1930 was a milestone in the development of theatrical education in Greece. The necessity of methodical training of actors, in accordance with European practices, had been repeatedly expressed in the newly established Greek state.
