The Kipper Kids were a duo composed of Martin Rochus Sebastian von Haselberg (born 20 January 1949) and Brian Routh (1948–2018), two artists known for the extreme and often comedic performance art they made together in the 1970s and after.
Martin von Haselberg is an actor, director and writer who performs with his partner Brian Routh as the Kipper Kids. He is also married to Bette Midler and has a daughter, Sophie.
Von Haselberg starred as part of ‘The Kipper Kids,’ along with Routh, in the 1980-released American musical fantasy–comedy film ‘Forbidden Zone.’ ‘The Kipper Kids’ also appeared in the 1989 American comedy film ‘UHF’ (as themselves) that released internationally as ‘The Vidiot from UHF.’

The performance art duo Kipper Kids was a collaborative project by Brian Routh (1948-2018, England) and Martin von Haselberg (b. 1949, Argentina) active from approximately 1971 to 1982. Routh and von Haselberg met at East 15 Acting School in London, England, in 1970.
Argentinian-born Martin von Haselberg, along with Brian Routh, form the performance art group known as the Kipper Kids. After they met in 1970, they created a character named Harry Kipper. They have since put on shows all over the world. Von Haselberg got married to songstress Bette Midler in 1984. They have a daughter, Sophie.
