The Logical Investigations ( German: Logische Untersuchungen) (1900–1901; second edition 1913) is a two-volume work by the philosopher Edmund Husserl, in which the author discusses the philosophy of logic and criticizes psychologism, the view that logic is based on psychology .
Edmund Husserl is the founder of phenomenology and the Logical Investigations is his most famous work. It had a decisive impact on twentieth century philosophy and is one of few works to have influenced both continental and analytic philosophy. This is the first time both volumes have been available in paperback.

There are six Investigations in the entire Logical investigations. In sequence, Husserl wants to investigate these six aspects of logic: General structure of signs and expressive statements. The status of universals (which he refers as species — this is particularly helpful to note while reading) and nature of abstractions.
