Smiley's People is a spy novel by British writer John le Carré, published in 1979. Featuring British master-spy George Smiley, it is the third and final novel of the "Karla Trilogy", following Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and The Honourable Schoolboy.
Alec Guinness stars as George Smiley, a British spymaster who investigates the murder of a Soviet defector and confronts his old nemesis Karla. The series is a sequel to Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and adapts John le Carré's novel of the same name.
