  3. Margery Durant was born May 24, 1887 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of William Crapo Durant and Clara Pitt Durant. She had a younger brother, Clifford, born in 1890. Margery’s father was the grandson of Henry Howland Crapo, a successful lumberman and railroad magnate, who served as Governor of Michigan from 1864-8.
