Nigel joined in June 1973 and was Steeleye's first permanent drummer and an integral part of the 'Classic' line up and the 'Folk Rock' sound that they became known for. Nigel also played flute on a number of tracks including Thomas the Rhymer.

I was the audio engineer and co-producer of all the albums by legendary Torres Straits singer, Seaman Dan AM, three of which were nominated for an ARIA, and two won the ‘World Music’ category. I also achieved two other ARIA nominations, one of which was for my own band ‘Kamerunga’.
Drummer Nigel Pegrum was now fully accepted into the band, and as a result drums appear pretty much throughout the album. This plus the more prevalent rock orientation gives the album a generally heavier feel in relative terms.
