Under the Skin is the fourth solo album by American musician and Fleetwood Mac vocalist/guitarist Lindsey Buckingham, released on October 3, 2006. The album, long delayed by Fleetwood Mac's reunion tour in the 1990s and 2003 album Say You Will, was his first solo release in 14 years.

While Under the Skin might not be as instantly gratifying as Fleetwood Mac’s radio-friendly ruminations, the emotional intimacy that is painted by Buckingham’s ambient production technique transforms the endeavor into something that is equally resonant.
Mick Fleetwood invited the duo to join his band in late 1974. After Buckingham accepted, the band's pop tendencies flowered under his direction. Not only did he provide the group with some brilliant, surprisingly dark pop songs, he sharpened the other members' songs with his production, arrangements, and breath-taking guitar playing.
