Biografía. Lukas nació en Budapest en 1894. En 1927, se mudó a Hollywood luego de una carrera cinematográfica y teatral exitosa en Hungría, Alemania y Austria, donde trabajó con Max Reinhardt. Realizó su debut teatral en Budapest en 1916 y su debut cinematográfico en 1917.

He won the Academy Award for Best Actor, and the first Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Drama, for his performance in the film Watch on the Rhine (1943), reprising the role he created on the Broadway stage.
