La banda de Black Metal melódico se creó en 1993 a raíz del grupo anterior de Galder (Tom Rune Andersen), REQUIEM, que versionaba a METALLICA y SLAYER en sus comienzos y posteriormente evolucionó al Death Metal. Tras lanzar una demo cambió el nombre a OLD MAN'S CHILD y dirigió su música al Black Metal.
