Nicholas Christian "Nicky" Hopkins (Perivale, Londres, 24 de febrero de 1944-Nashville, Tennessee, 6 de septiembre de 1994) fue un músico inglés que participó en algunas de las piezas musicales más importantes de la música popular inglesa y estadounidense de los años 1970 a 1980, tocando el piano y el órgano.
Solo albums and soundtrack work. In 1966, Hopkins released The Revolutionary Piano of Nicky Hopkins, produced by Shel Talmy. His next solo project released was The Tin Man Was a Dreamer in 1973, under the aegis of producer David Briggs, best known for his work with Neil Young and Spirit.

En una de sus últimas entrevistas, que coincide con el concierto relatado, cuenta que su madre le «alzó a la butaca» y le enseñó los primeros acordes.
Nicky Hopkins died in Nashville on 6th September 1994 at the tragically early age of fifty, from complications related to his lifelong illnesses and frailty. There were obituaries in Time Magazine, most of the quality papers and in the music press.
Nicky touched people’s lives, not just with his extraordinary musical abilities, but with his courage and his wicked sense of humour. As long as the hundreds of albums he contributed to are still listened to, he will never be forgotten.

La única razón por la que sigo tolerando una escucha atenta de muchos álbumes de los Rolling, es por que se que invariablemente ahi esta Nicky para poner todas las cosas en su sitio. Y ni hablar de las grandes aportaciones que como musico de sesion realizo.
