As a New Jersey representative in the Continental Congress, he signed the Continental Association and the United States Constitution.
William Livingston (born Nov. 30, 1723, Albany, N.Y. [U.S.]—died July 25, 1790, Elizabeth, N.J.) was the first Revolutionary governor of New Jersey. A graduate of Yale, Livingston was admitted to the New York bar in 1748 and served briefly in the New York legislature (1759–60).
