Yordanka Asenova Fandakova (Bulgarian: Йорданка Асенова Фандъкова; born 12 April 1962) is a Bulgarian politician and former Mayor of Sofia. She was the first woman to hold this position. She was elected on 15 November 2009, after defeating the Bulgarian Socialist Party contender Georgi Kadiev.
Yordanka Fandakova is currently one of only six women holding the mayor position in the European Union capital cities. Before she became mayor of Sofia, Yordanka Fandakova was deputy mayor of Sofia Municipality for culture, education, sports, and prevention of abuse between 2005-2009.
8 de mar. de 2018 · Yordanka Fandakova is the Mayor of Sofia since 2009, becoming the first female mayor of Sofia. She was reelected to a second term in 2011 and to a third term in 2015. Upon completion of her third term in 2019, Fandakova will become the longest serving mayor of the Bulgarian capital.
