  1. Donald Eugene Siegelman ( / ˈsiːɡəlmən / SEE-gəl-mən; born February 24, 1946) is an American politician who was the 51st governor of Alabama from January 18,1999 to January 20, 2003. A member of the Democratic Party, as of 2024, Siegelman is the last Democrat, as well as the only Catholic, to serve as Governor of Alabama to date.
