Willie Lewis Brown Jr. (born March 20, 1934) is an American politician. A member of the Democratic Party , he served as mayor of San Francisco from 1996 to 2004, the first African American to hold that office.

He performed and recorded with other blues musicians, including Son House and Charlie Patton, and influenced Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters. Brown is considered one of the pioneering musicians of the Delta blues genre.
