Daniyal Mirza (11 September 1572 – 19 March 1605) was the shahzada of the Mughal Empire who served as the Viceroy of the Deccan. He was the third son of Emperor Akbar and the half-brother of Emperor Jahangir. Daniyal was Akbar's favourite son, as well as an able general.
In 1620, Khusrau, along with his paternal uncle, Prince Daniyal, were handed over to, Prince Khurram. In 1620, in order to secure her power in the Mughal court amidst Jahangir's declining health, Nur Jehan proposed a marriage of her daughter Mihr-un-Nissa Begum to Khusrau.
