Robert Henry Dicke (/ ˈ d ɪ k i /; May 6, 1916 – March 4, 1997) was an American astronomer and physicist who made important contributions to the fields of astrophysics, atomic physics, cosmology and gravity. He was the Albert Einstein Professor in Science at Princeton University (1975–1984).
Bob Dicke contributed to advances in radar, atomic physics, quantum optics, gravity physics, astrophysics, and cosmology. The unifying theme is his application of powerful and scrupulously controlled experimental methods to issues that really matter.
